Simple & healthy summer drink: Lemon Water

Hey everyone :-) We are heading towards summer pretty quickly, people want to get into shape, change their eating habits, getting healthier in general..Same old story right? So I have something VERY simple but yet sooo healthy for you guys today. Ever tried making home made Lemon Water?

Lemons are such great fruits with healing properties! Because of its high Vitamin C content, it is used to prevent and treat many infections, hasten wound healing, and diminish allergies. Lemon juice also relieves symptoms of asthma, tonsillitis, and sore throats.

I have made a short list WHY lemons are so great, it might make you to try this simple, healthy drink:

Lemons are…Good for your stomach!
Lemons can help relieve digestion problems when you mix it with hot water. For example nausea, heartburn and parasites. Lemon juice has digestive qualities, so the symptoms of indigestion such as heartburn and bloating are relieved. When you drink lemon juice on the daily, the bowels are aided in eliminating waste more efficiently. Lemon acts as a blood purifier and as a cleansing agent. The intake of lemon juice can cure constipation. It even relieves hiccups! :-) It helps your liver to produce more bile and helps to digest your food, it sort of acts as a liver tonic. It is also known to help dissolve gallstones.

Lemons are…Great for your skin!
A lemon is a natural antiseptic medicine, it can even cure skin problems. Lemon is a vitamin C rich citrus fruit that enhances your beauty, by rejuvenating skin from within. Daily consumption of lemon water can definitely make a huge difference of your skin. It can remove wrinkles and blackheads. Lemon water can also fade scars. Lemons are cooling agents, it reduces the burning sensation on the skin.

Lemons can…Cure Throat Infections
Lemon is a great fruit that aids in fighting problems related to throat infections. For sore throat, dilute one-half lemon juice with one-half water and gargle frequently.

Lemons are…Good for Weight Loss
One of the major health benefits of drinking lemon water is that it paves way for losing weight faster. If a person takes lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water and honey, it can reduce the body weight too.

Lemons are…High Blood Pressure Controllers
Lemon water works wonders for people having heart problems, owing to its high potassium content. It controls high blood pressure and it also reduces mental stress and depression.

Lemons are…Fever Reducers
Lemon water can help a person who is suffering from cold, flu or fever. It helps to break fever.

Lemon water helps clean the toxins out of your body. There are so many great benefits of lemon juice, just simply change your habits bit by bit and soon you will start valuing this great fruit more than ever.

A few tipps:

- Lemons should always be room temperature. To extract the most juice and pulp from the lemon, roll the lemon around on a table or the counter a few times.
- Always look for lemons that are bright yellow in color and look fresh.
- Lemons with a thicker peel, have less pulp and juice.
- Lemons with thinner skin, have more pulp and more juice.
- Lemon water has to be made from fresh lemons.
- Real lemon from a bottle or can or plastic lemon does not work.
- Even freshly made lemon water is good only twelve hours after it is made.

Here’s the recipe such an easy healthy lemon juice summer drink:

  • Prep Time 2 minutes
  • Cook Time 2
  • Difficulty Easy
  • 1-2 lemons
  • 1-1.5 litres of water

Lemon water is so easy to fix.
Mix the pulp and juice from 1/2 lemon in water (with or without bubbles/gas) and drink!
OR cut slices of lemons and put it right in your glass of water or pitcher.

MMmhmmm…looks SO refreshing and healthy…AND IT IS! Do something good for your body and just drink this on the daily. Especially when you are stressed and have no time to cook healthy sometimes, this is such a good thing to do.

It is the best thing for quenching your thirst as well. Soon you will even notice you no longer crave soda pop. In fact, soda even starts to taste too sweet. If you even take lemon water for the rest of your life, you can add 10 to 30 years to it. If the lemon burns your stomach, it is a sign that you lack calcium. Take calcium gluconate, till the lemon no longer burns your stomach.

Again, lemon water is the most fantastic thing you can do to improve your health, increase your energy, and prolong your life.

So come on now, go and buy some lemons :-)

  5. im Moment trinke Zitronenhalfte mit Lauwarmenwasser soo ein Monat und passiert kein Wunder.Soll ich noch abwarten?

    • Hallo Alois,
      nun ja, Wunder passieren da ganz sicher nicht :) Aber es ist sehr gesund und man sollte sowas gern beibehalten – allein schon wegen der Nährstoffe etc.
