Mexican “Piñata” themed…Cake Pops!

Mexican “Piñata” themed…Cake Pops!

Hi there,

off to my third post of my “Piñata” themed sweet treats I made last week for my boyfriends birthday.

In my recent two blogposts I showed you Cake Bites and Chocolate Cupcakes (incl. recipes),
now it is time for these awesome and cute, colorful Cake Pops!! They were a hit, too, who doesn’t love lollipops anyway?

Aren’t these full of life? I get real happy just by looking at these. It’s funny how the little things fulfill us in life.
I feel go(o)d all day :-)

Again, here are the colors of the piñata, where I chose my color scheme from:

I will now let you know the recipe for these cute fellas.

  • Prep Time 20 minutes
  • Baking Time 10 minutes in refrigerator
  • Difficulty Easy

For the Cake Bites:

  • 1 package OREO cookies
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese
  • Candy Melts (various colors) – I use Merckens Candy Melts
  • Sprinkles, sanding sugar etc. for decorating top
  • Lollipop Sticks
  • Additional Items you may want to get:

  • Lollipop plastic covers
  • ribbon for tying

  • 1. Grind Oreo Cookies to fine crumbs in a food processor
  • 2. Put the crumbmix into a boal and hand mix with cream cheese.
  • 3. The dough should have a consistency of play-dough
  • 4. Roll dough into 1? balls, then refrigerate them for at least 10 minutes
  • 5. Now melt your candy wafers.
  • 6. dip a little bit of the lollipop stick in the melted candy, then stick the lollipop stick in the Cake Pop and dip the Cake Pop in the melted candy wafers.
  • 7. Now add sprinkles, sanding sugar etc. to decorate (dont wait too long, otherwise it won’t stick to the base)
  • 8. When you’re done, put it in a styrofoam block to dry completely
  • 9. And now: Have fun decorating and enjoying these cute Cake Pops :-)

Please have a closer look how the mexican themed Cake Pops turned out, be careful though, it might cause happiness :-)

Have fun making these Cake Pops, let me know how they turned out?
