Bright summer colors: Cake Pops

Bright summer colors: Cake Pops

Hello there :-)

I hope you had a great Independence Day!!

At the moment, when you visit all the baking blogs with new recipes, or huge sites such as Tastespotting and Foodgawker, their main colors are mostly white, red and blue, it is awesome!
I know my last blogpost was just yesterday, in case you haven’t seen it, see it here:Yummy, Oreo no-bake Cupcake Lollipops.

I have not made any 4th of July themed cake pops or any other sweet treat in these colors (next year for sure), but I did make some summer looking cake pops the other day.
So I thought, why not throw another blogpost out this Tuesday morning?

Recently many people just beg for these little fellas, it’s so funny to see.
That is why I am making these so often.
For my co-workers, my boyfriend, my friends and my parents…
it’s nice how cake pops are loved by people. Over here in Germany they are not well-known at all. So it is an additional “wow” effect for them, I think. No one can resist once they see them :-)

Of course I wrote down the recipe for you all. I plan to make a how-to tutorial soon, so it is easier to understand how to make them – but really, it is so easy and fun, you guys won’t have many problems trying these out.

  • Prep Time 20 minutes
  • Baking Time 10 minutes in refrigerator
  • Difficulty Easy

For the Cake Pops:

  • 1 package OREO cookies
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese
  • Candy Melts (various colors) – I use Merckens Candy Melts
  • Sprinkles, sanding sugar, skittles, m&m’s for decorating
  • Lollipop Sticks
  • Additional Items you may want to get:

  • Lollipop plastic covers
  • ribbon for tying

  • 1. Grind Oreo Cookies to fine crumbs in a food processor
  • 2. Put the crumbmix into a boal and hand mix with cream cheese.
  • 3. The dough should have the consistency of play-dough
  • 4. Roll dough into 1? balls, then refrigerate them for at least 10 minutes
  • 5. Now melt your candy wafers.
  • 6. Dip a little bit of the lollipop stick in the melted candy, then stick the lollipop stick in the Cake Pop (half way) and dip the Cake Pop in the melted candy wafers.
  • 7. Now add sprinkles, sanding sugar or anything else etc. to decorate (don’t wait too long, otherwise it won’t stick to the base)
  • 8. When you’re done, put it in a styrofoam block to let them dry completely
  • 9. And now: Have fun decorating and enjoying these cute Cake Pops :-)

Have a great day and I hope you had fun with my post. You hungry now?? Craving for anything specific? :-)
