Cute and Lovely Christmas Snowman Cake Pops, perfect for the holidays.

Cute and Lovely Christmas Snowman Cake Pops, perfect for the holidays.

Just like with any other holiday: It’s coming so fast! Before you know it you have so much stuff on your to-do list that you get very stressed-out and this, at least for me, is no fun at all.
So I thought to post my Christmas Snowman Cake Pops now instead of in December.

When I make my baking plans for holidays, I usually look stuff up 1 or 2 months early and start planning what to bake, what to cook, how to decorate my place etc.
And when I recently thought of making Christmas Cake Pops, I knew it had to be Snowmen :-)
I love these little fellas, because these Snowmen aren’t the regular kind. I changed them up a little bit comparing to the usual kind.
They even fit perfectly to Valentines Day (indeed there is snow often in February) because of the little hearts I used as bottons.

Please read on to see more photos and to get the recipe.

  • Prep Time 20 minutes
  • Baking Time 10 minutes in refrigerator
  • Difficulty Easy

For the Christmas Snowman Cake Pops:

  • 1 package OREO cookies or for Europeans: 3 and a half packages a 176g
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese (I use 176g packages (6.2 ounces)
  • white Candy Melts – I use Merckens and Wilton Candy Melts
  • white sanding sugar
  • orange sprinkles for the noses
  • heart-shaped sprinkles, choose any color you like
  • Americolor Edible Food Pen
  • Edible glue
  • little brush for edible glue
  • tweezers (to place hearts and nose precisely)
  • Lollipop Sticks

Additional Items you may want to get, makes a nice gift:

  • Lollipop plastic covers, to give away
  • ribbon for tying, to give away
  • Prepare yourself before you actually start. Get everything out on the counter you need, so you do not stress yourself in the middle of the decorating process :-)
  • 1. Now, make the NO BAKE Snowman Cake Pops: Grind your Oreo cookies to fine crumbs in a food processor
  • 2. Put the crumbmix into a boal and hand mix with cream cheese. I use gloves though, because it gets messy :-) Especially when you have longer nails, it takes a while to be “oreo/creamcheese-free” again. So just use gloves, or when you have kids, I am sure they would love to help you with this step :-)
  • 3. Keep in mind that the dough should have the consistency of play-dough.
  • 4. Roll the dough into balls and form them into the typical Snowman shape, then refrigerate them for at least 10 minutes to firm up.
  • 5. Now melt your candy wafers.
  • 6. Dip a little bit of the lollipop stick in the melted candy, then stick the lollipop stick in the Cake Pop (half way) and dip the Cake Pop in the melted candy wafers.
  • 7. Now you can add the hearts as buttons, but I actually waited until everything was set and dry.
  • 8. Put the cake pops in a styrofoam block to dry completely.
  • 9. Get it started. Paint the eyes and mouth as dots on the snowman cake pops.
  • 10. Now go get your edible glue to work: Dip your brush in the glue and put it on the cake pop, where you want the nose and hearts to be placed.
  • 11. Then carefully (with help of tweezers) add the hearts one by one and nose-sprinkle to make the snowman-face complete :-) And you’re done.

It is really simple and I think it’s a great treat for christmas. People will love them, I bet!

Bakerella inspired me. I am sure she inspires everyone who makes Cake Pops.
I mean: she made them first, and she is absolutely amazing with her creativity. If you have not heard about her, please pay her website a visit!

Have a good week, I’ll grab me a slice of cake for breakfast now…mhmmmm…
Blessings…niner

  5. Very cute….but I clicked on this link excited to see what organic recipe you used for the cakepops…and was disheartened to see you used Oreos (with hfcs), and wilton/merkens candy melts, which are pure hydrogenated oil. This is the same recipe that bakerella uses. Did I miss a link to an organic recipe somewhere??? Please tell me I missed something..

    • Hi there Debbie,
      thanks for your comment :-)
I started this website to actually just write about organic living. But as time passed by I started blogging more and more about desserts, savory dishes etc.
So if anyone is confused because of my website’s title (and I do not always use organic ingredients for baking especially when it comes to food coloring and candy melts), that is why.
And I totally understand your thoughts. It is hard to find GOOD organic food coloring etc.
Hope you can try to bake a cake and then make Cake Pops from it, this is the “healthier way” guaranteed.
Wishing you a great day, Debby.
      Blessings

  7. Oh!!! I also make my Christmas baking and cooking plans in advance.
As I told you, I want to make my first cakepops this Christmas, so finding a new idea is really great!! But… I will start with something a little easier, more simple! Yeah, you know, something like small balls… Yeah, it sounds boring!!

(I must say is funny to read in the ingredients: “1 package Oreo”, and then see: “for Europeans: 3 and a half” jajajaja).

    Un beso!!!!

    • Haha hi Paula, it is such a pleasure to read your humorous comments!!
Cake balls are awesome too and not boring at all. When you make them “xmas looking” I am sure they will look so cute. Please send me your link then, I am sure you will post them?
haha about the European sizes…I know it’s crazy eh? I have been looking for bigger packages of Oreos, but nope. :-)
      WIsh you a great weekend!!

      • I want a huge package of Oreos!! And also the golden Oreo, and the ones that have orange filling!!

You can be sure that I’ll post those cakepops, no matter how they look! I also post my “Disasters in the kitchen”, so if things go wrong, they will have its place in that paragraph!!

        Un beso!!

  11. Incredibly cute and easy recipe! I’m a college student and a RA and I thought about making these for co-workers and the girls on my floor. As a college student, I don’t have a food processor handy – is there anything else I can use? I was also wondering how many cake pops the recipe makes? Thank you so much! :)

    • Hi Katie, thanks for stopping by.
Without a food processor it is definitely possible too. You can crush the Oreos by hand or with a cup etc. Just make sure the crumbs are really small n tiny :-) And this recipe makes quite a few snowmen, it depends how big you make them, you know? I would say 10 or 15? Only guessing right now though.
Hope it will be fun and let me know how they turned out?
      Blessings,
      niner :-)

  15. Hello! This recipe is wonderful! I was just curious when you food process the oreos do you take out the creme inside or do you food process it with the creme inside?
