Festive Gold & Violet Party Cake Pops, Cupcake Pops and Bites

Festive Gold & Violet Party Cake Pops, Cupcake Pops and Bites

Hi everyone!
I recently posted about the birthday party where we used gold and violet as the color scheme. And I thought it would be neat to have the sweet treats in the same colors – this way it would all fit together perfectly.

So today I will write about all the Cake Pops, Cupcake Pops and Cake Bites I made for Kris’ surprise birthday party and I wrote down the recipe also, for everyone to make at home.

  • Prep Time10-20 minutes
  • Baking Time 10 minutes in refrigerator
  • Difficulty Easy

For the Cake Pops:

  • 1 package OREO cookies
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese (I use 176g packages (6.2 ounces)
  • Candy Melts (white, yellow, violet) – I use Merckens & Wilton Candy Melts
  • Golden sprinkles, yellow skittles
  • Lollipop Sticks
  • Additional Items you may want to get:

  • Lollipop plastic covers
  • ribbon for tying

  • This how-to is how to make the basic Cake Pops, for example the Yellow and Violet ones with golden sprinkles on top.
Please click here if you want to know how to make Cupcake Pops.

  • Prepare yourself before you actually start. Get everything out on the counter you need, so you do not stress yourself in the middle of the decorating process :-)
  • 1. Now, make the NO BAKE Cake Pops: Grind your Oreo cookies to fine crumbs in a food processor
  • 2. Put the crumbmix into a boal and hand mix with cream cheese. I use gloves though, because it gets messy :-) Especially when you have longer nails, it takes a while to be “oreo/creamcheese-free” again. So just use gloves, or when you have kids, I am sure they would love to help you with this step :-)
  • 3. Keep in mind that the dough should have the consistency of play-dough.
  • 4. Roll the dough into 1? balls, then refrigerate them for at least 10 minutes to firm up.
  • 5. Now melt your white, yellow and violet candy wafers.
  • 6. Dip a little bit of the lollipop stick in the melted candy, then stick the lollipop stick in the Cake Pop (half way) and dip the Cake Pop in the melted candy wafers.
  • 7. Now you can add the golden sprinkles to decorate. Don’t wait too long, otherwise it won’t stick to the base. Merckens Candy Melts dry pretty quickly, so that is why I should not wait too long.
  • 8. When you’re done with deocrating, put it in a styrofoam block to let these cute cake pops dry completely.
  • 9. Get it started. Have fun decorating and enjoy your Cake Pops in a pretty festive look :-)

  7. I am a disaster!!
I have everything ready to make my first cakepops. I must admit that part of the “fault” is yours and your blog (yes, no Bakerella, just you!!). I have the candy melts, sticks, colored sugar… But I don’t dare with them!!!
I want to make them at least for Christmas, so I haven’t much time, but when I see yours on the blog, I don’t know if they are a reason to try, or a reason to not try, because I won’t make something like that!!!

But, while I decide, I keep reading your advice!!
Kisses!! (And sorry for my english, I think today I have write “a bunch” of mistakes ;)

    • PLEASE keep trying Paula. Try them out, I am sure they will look LOVELY. Once you made Cake Pops like 2 or 3 times you get the hang of it and start to get really good at it. I believe in you, do it do it :-)
